Help, I’m Alive
I’m sure this is not the post you expected (or even wanted) after my long absence, but I feel like telling you I haven’t died (yet) and what’s been happening in my life.
First, let me clarify, I actually have been here. I see all of your messages and comments, I just haven’t posted anything. So here’s the rundown:
I had a 3.8 GPA semester (probably my best semester to date).
I’ve been working as a tutor for the Sanger Learning Center at my university (computer science).
I finally earned enough money to buy my mom the mother’s ring she’s wanted for quite awhile, it should be arriving in the mail today.
I had an 80s party:
And it failed miserably. See, the power went out halfway through and we got a slew of noise complaints (my borrowed sound system is just too awesome). Fortunately, the power came back on just after Tori (above, middle) showed up and we played drinking games until neither of us was coherent (thanks for that, really).
And I just (as in, just now) got a summer job as a proctor with my favorite professor.
So things haven’t been so bad, actually. I have about two weeks before my job starts so I’m going to relax, perhaps create a few photosets. I feel as though I’ve GIF’d the entire Pirates franchise, though. Keep a weather eye.
Cheers, everyone! Thanks for not unfollowing!
In case anyone anywhere ever questioned the effectiveness of ProActiv…
It really works!
This is only week two and I’ve already cleared up so much. Also, I’m really bored and I have to study for my Object-Oriented Programming exam (I’m sure some of you are aware of how I become a nightblogger when I pull all-nighters) so here’s a photo of me.
My heart is beating really fast, we’ve been discussing tricksters in European Folktale and my professor has discussed everyone from Bugs Bunny to Loki but didn’t even mention Jack Sparrow so I made a video and sent it to her with a few paragraphs and she made me stand up in front of everyone and talk about him and then she showed my video and I got extra credit, okay I’m calming down now.
My hair is finally growing out!
I’m having a Sheldon Cooper moment — I feel like a teenage heartthrob. It’s 4 AM, don’t judge me.
I wanted to make a mash-up of the end title themes from all four films, but I have too much homework.
They’re all so different, I thought it’d be cool to hear them all at once. I started interleaving the pieces but the music from Dead Man’s Chest requires a pitch/tempo change to fit in, and I just don’t have the time. Hans Zimmer, you troll.
I DID IT.
Pardon the stupid video, but I’ve been trying to say the line without tripping at “whatever”. It’s not as easy as you might think. Okay, I’m done now.
I just don’t know.
Ever wonder why your external drive never seems to have max capacity, even when it’s completely empty? That’s because a drive consists of several platters, each with a set amount of tracks, and each track contains the same number of sectors. Each sector is the same size.
I know, you’re saying, “Thomas, as the circumference of each track increases, obviously you’d be able fit more sectors… where does the extra space go?”
And that’s when I say AHA! Q.E.D.
In other news, I’m slowly going insane. Test tomorrow. No sleep. Stay tuned to learn about caches.
Only ONE of my posts has been featured on the #film tag. Do the editors not appreciate Pirates of the Caribbean? Or are my GIFs really that terrible?
COME ON! Give Johnny Depp some love!
Every year I get half as pretty and twice as drunk.
I can’t wait until Dark Shadows comes out on DVD! I already have a few ideas, along with that quote…
I stayed up all night so now I’m hyped up on coffee and ritalin. Don’t mind me.
So I thought I was going to get three Bs and a C
But then I was like “fuck that” and got three As and a B instead. So, does putting forth the minimal amount of effort and still passing make me brilliant, or an idiot?
That was rhetorical.
I’d like to thank my newest confidant, Cassie Dillard. We went to hell and back, relatively unscathed. Love your face!
